Most, if not all, that I shoot falls under the category of Art Nude. This is probably self evident for anyone who has look at my image galleries, but still something worth mentioning. You will probably find that I am a very extroverted introvert. Or is that introverted extrovert? Something like that.
One goal with each shoot is that everyone has fun and enjoys themselves with creating the art. My creative process during a shoot is very collaborative. We decide on what style we want to shoot before hand, then on the day of the shoot we decide what we want to shoot first.
Here is an outline of what to expect when shooting with me. I have put this together because, well quite frankly, it’s a lot to type when sending over any messaging app. So here we go.
Blacklight Shoot
- This type of shoot has the potential for being extremely messy. The elements that I use are UV paint, UV wax, and UV rope.
- The paint is a water based acrylic that washes off easily with soap and water. The paint can either be painted on using simple art brushes or thinned with water to allow it to be poured.
- The wax is a mixture of 95% Soy wax and 5% Coconut wax. This mixture melts at a low temperature, does not burn when poured and/or dripped, and cools quickly while still leaving a pleasant warm feeling. It can leave the skin feeling somewhat silky because of the soy wax. I also provide fragrance (i.e. apple pie, cupcakes, and flowers) for a little aroma therapy. I have some candles that are 100% paraffin. The paraffin does melt at a slightly higher temperature and will have a warmer feel when dripped and/or poured onto the skin.
- The rope is all nylon and is very smooth to the skin.
- I am self taught with regards to Shibari. I do not do any suspension work. All of my rope tying is kept close to the floor. I do not tie anything overly complicated.
- I will ask you health related questions and have you complete a Health Questionnaire to make sure that I am aware of any medical conditions.
Digital Projection/Light Painting
- This shoot can take a couple different directions.
- The first is using a digital projector to display colorful images and patterns across the model’s body.
- The second is the use of laser pointers that display a pattern. For this I take a long exposure and draw patterns across the model’s body.
- The third is using an optical snoot and gobos to display a pattern on the model. Most of these images will be black and white in the end.
Vintage Art Nudes
- This is taking inspiration from art nudes from the 1920’s to 1950’s and from the era of the Ziegfeld Follies.
- I provide all of the wardrobe and props. I have a wide variety of lace collars, lace gloves, lace masks, lace chokers, hats, and strings of pearls.
- All of the images from this style of shoot will be black and white and the lighting will be similar to what was used in that era.
